Emfuleni Film Screening Stockvel

Fresh from hosting the first “Emfuleni Theatre Stockvel”, in 2022, Creative Industries Marketing Stockvel (CIMS) is thrilled to produce and present the Emfuleni Film Screening Stockvel from the 4th of February to the 25th of March 2023 at Vereeniging Civic Theatre. The aim of the stockvel is to bring filmmakers together, build a community, maximize their resources, develop audiences for one another, create media presence, provide a screening venue, marketing, administration and management support.

In partnership with National Film and Video foundation, Emfuleni Municipality and Gauteng Department of Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation, we are happy to present; Emfuleni Film Screening Stockvel. Through a submission call, we selected 6 films from Emfuleni Municipality to be part of the Stockvel. The diverse thought-provoking films from the independent filmmakers will take audiences through different journeys whilst giving filmmakers the platform to showcase their work. Through the stockvel system, the 6 filmmakers will market and sell a minimum of 20 tickets @R50 per ticket for each film screening, meaning that each screening will have a minimum of 100 audience members.

The Emfuleni Film Screening Stockvel also boasts of awards that are centered on marketing and audience development. The awards are a way to encourage and recognize those filmmakers who sell most tickets in the stockvel. We have an award for most tickets sold by a filmmaker for all films billed at R10 000.00 and an award by a filmmaker whose film draws in the most audiences which will be rewarded with R5 000.00.
